Moon sand in water

Moon sand is normal sand coated with a hydrophobic material that repels water thus this sand will never get wet.

This method was originally developed to clean petroleum from sea water because the sand could mix with the oil and it sinks, instead of staying on the surface of the sea. 

This is an easy way to do moon sand. You just need  8 cups of plain flour and 1 cup of baby oil.

The steps are the following:

• Mix the flour and oil well in a container

• Leave it overnight

• Use your hands to sift it and break it into fine pieces

• Then you could add the food coloring of your choice

You now have your moon sand. It would just float in the water and it would not sink at all.
