Where’s Baby Yoda in Rise of Skywalker?
The Mandalorian took place long before the Rise of Skywalker. There is more than 26 years difference to it, and Baby Yoda, at 76-80 years old, is still a toddler at that time.
Since there’s just a little knowledge of the Jedi and Yoda’s race in the region of the galaxy, it could be far between the rebels and the Empire in the time of the Rise of the Skywalker.
In the timeline of Rise of Skywalker, Baby Yoda is a toddler and still too young to become a Jedi if he was meant to be one. And Mando is about 56 years old or even older at that time.
That means that the series takes place around 26 years before Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and the years between The Mandalorian and The Rise of Skywalker could be bigger.
As we are now aware, Baby Yoda was not in the film Rise of Skywalker. The creators might have thought that including him might not be a good idea, and it might pre-empt the series. It might always create conflict in the plot.
Baby Yoda is also the series biggest surprise, and Jon Favreau wanted to avoid any leakages about him. Having Baby Yoda in The Rise of Skywalker would have been a gamble that might leak his character ahead of time.
But one thing is sure, there would hopefully be more of Baby Yoda in the days to come, and if it’s destined for him to be included in the incoming films in the Star Wars saga, then it would come at the right time.
Baby Yoda’s character would evolve in its right phase, and he’s still an infant. He still has a lot of years ahead of him as their species could live to 1,000 years old.
